Some environment-related news events and community happenings that have turned up in this bizarre period of we-are-about-to-be un-locked-down but not-just yet.
The green energy debate has continued to run in circles in America, despite (or perhaps because of) the announcement from President Biden that he would re-enter the USA as a fully participating member of the Paris Climate Agreements. The conservative coal and fossil-fuel lobby, although they took a bit of a knock, came out fighting. Aided by the unusual freeze-up and blizzard which hit the state of Texas and led to major power outages, what we would call load-shedding, the anti-renewables chorus were quick to blame frozen wind-turbines for the electricity failures.
