Scotland has voted No to independence in a referendum, meaning its 300-year old union with the UK will continue. Prime minister David Cameron has hailed the 55%-45% vote to remain inside the UK while Scotland's first minister Alex Salmond has paid tribute to the 'triumph of democracy'.
