LLB graduate of University of Edinburgh and MA graduate in Cultural Reporting and Criticism from New York University. Khanya Mthsali is also a journalist and writer of It’s Not Inside It’s On Top – Memorable Moments in South African Advertising. The book takes you on a journey on South Africa’s journey with television advertisements and how they can be used to mark the particular cultural and social shift the country was going through in that moment.
Mtshali wrote her quirky and nostalgic book during lockdown and in this podcast she genuinely and graphically shares the difficulties she faced while writing the book. Looking at her journey with publisher, Tafelberg, she is grateful they believed in her idea and her book in such trying times
