The advice the Durban & Coast SPCA give the community as a whole is that should one find a stray animal, the first thing to do is make a call to the nearest SPCA for collection. She continues that this first and only step is critical as one is not aware of what disease the animal may have and you simply do not know the nature of the animal - an animal expert is therefore inclined for such situations.
