Recently, the Council for Medical Schemes gave its stamp of approval to the merger of Hosmed Medical Scheme and Sizwe Medical Fund, creating South Africa’s eighth-largest open medical scheme, marking the beginning of what is likely to be a revolution in South Africa’s medical scheme industry.
