This is essentially what Christianity is all about, but what does it really mean to follow Jesus? To what extent?

Jesus didn't really concern himself with the hustles and pursuits of this world, the luxurious living, the worldly ambitions, but was humble and all about the Father's business. Should Christians be the same?

The apostles left everything to follow Jesus, He commanded the rich young ruler to sell everything he had and follow him, are we literally meant to do the same?
