Meals on Wheels Community Services is a humanitarian initiative that provides welfare services and disaster relief assistance to the country’s poorest of the poor irrespective of colour, class, culture or religion. The poorest of the poor refers to persons with little or no income, such as old age pension, disability pension, and childcare grants. The vulnerable include unemployed women with children, child headed households and orphans. The organization was started in 1964 with one centre, and has grown to a national organization with more than 280 centres, 520 service centres fand a fleet of more than 280 delivery vehicles.
