Ferguson in flames

Violent protests have erupted across the US following a court decision not to charge a police officer over the death of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown. Gunshots rang out and police lobbed tear gas at an angry crowd in suburban St Louis after the grand jury decision was announced late yesterday. It’s a story that’s been leading international news headlines and trending on Twitter since last night. VOC reporter Andriques Petersen caught up with New York based journalist Juan Thompson shortly after the violence erupted. After that,we turn to US author and media commentator Earl Ofari Hutchinson. Hutchinson has authored many books about the African American experience. He is a contributor to a variety of news outlets and websites on varying topics concerning politics and race. He is the host of The Hutchinson Report on KPFK-FM.
