S01 E10: Womankind: Living with Fibroids
Loading player...
Many South African women are silently suffering from untreated uterine fibroids. Even though living with uterine fibroids is quite common for a lot of women of reproductive age, this condition goes by largely ignored in the mainstream health conversations because the symptoms such as painful and long periods are considered to be ‘normal’ and topics around women’s reproductive health are still taboo in many communities. In this week's episode we are joined by FAASA chairperson Kea Nguza and OBGYN Dr Londiwe Kunene who will talk to us about diagnosing, treating and overcoming the challenges caused by living with uterine fibroids.
