•Emotional or covert incest happens when a parent or caregiver depends on a child for the emotional needs that a romantic partner would otherwise offer. It’s usually but not exclusively done by women, when they either call their son their husband or man of the house or even call their daughter, their father’s girlfriend or wife. This is usually said in jest hence sometimes it goes unpunished but have you ever thought what that sense of identity does for the child?
