• The comrades marathon association had opened a special three-day window for entries which closed officially this weekend. Earlier last week, the association re-opened the entries after a number of runners who had missed the initial entry period requested to be given a chance.

Mabuza, was who was not re-elected for a second term as ANC deputy president, says he has to make space for his replacement, Paul Mashatile.
