The K2 climbers are getting a Presidential award

The two South African adventurers who made history by planting our flag on the world's most dangerous peak are getting a presidential award.

Warren Eva and John Black will be honoured with the "Order of Ikhamanga in Bronze" for their contribution to action and endurance sport.

In July last year, they became the first South Africans to summit K2 after a grueling expedition...

For several weeks , they took HOT1027 along for the journey up Savage mountain where the temperatures can plunge to minus 60 degrees , with wind speeds of over 100 kilometers per hour.

Warren used the exposure from his climb to raise R83 000 for Food4Hope and when he and John arrived to a heroes welcome here at HOT HOUSE, Hot Cares matched that amount.
