Author and journalist Liz McGregor has told HOT1027 News she needed to write the story of her father's murder to try and uncover the truth behind the crime.

Her book "Unforgiven : Face to Face with my Father's Killer" has been nominated for the non-fiction prize at the Sunday Times Literary awards in partnership with Exclusive Books.

It's the true-life account of meeting the man who murdered her father, Robin McGregor in 2008 in a small town outside Cape Town..
