In the Register of Members' Interests, published by parliament yesterday, Deputy President Paul Mashatile declared a R37-million house in Waterfall as his own property. This is despite it belonging to a company owned by his son, Thabiso Mashatile, and his son-in-law, Nceba Nonkwelo. There are may questions that arise from this declaration, one of them being his affordability for this house. But most importantly, does this declaration matter?
