For a meaningful commemoration of Jesus’ sacrifice,
Seventh-day Adventists follow the Apostle Paul’s guidance in 1
Corinthians 11 to prepare our hearts with self-examination (vs.
27). He cautions that “whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup
of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and
blood of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 11:27, ESV). So let’s talk about
how we need to prepare ourselves for the Lord’s supper.
