Members of the South African x Swiss jazz cooperative, "Skyjack," will be our guests this Sunday on The World Show.
Skyjack, which consists of a European brass section in addition to the superb double bass, drums, and piano trio of Kyle Shepherd, Shane Cooper, and Jonno Sweetman from South Africa, has established itself as a daring and inventive force in modern African and European jazz over the course of a decade, both on recordings and live performances.
With compositions from every member of the group, their brand-new third album, "Light Cycle," boasts "expansive cosmic soundscapes with a solid grounding in memory and folklore."
