It has been a week since a tornado tore through Tongaat and parts of the north coast, forcing many to take shelter after their homes were damaged. At least eleven people were killed during severe storms that hit KZN, with seven deaths recorded in Tongaat. In the aftermath of the twister, many residents were evacuated to community halls.
