Tech Talk with Theunis : Voyager 1 boldly going for 47 years!

Somewhere in the back reaches of our collective conscience, we're all sort of vaguely aware that 47 years ago, a research module was launched named Voyager 1 ,which didn't only have the capabilities to explore parts of our solar system we'd only dreamt of seeing, but also carried a representation of what it meant to be human...a veritable message in a bottle, cast into the vastness of space. Perhaps a little whimsical in terms of scientific endeavours , it was a romantic notion that when it ceased to function, it would just float on endlessly, possibly encountering an alien civilization and serving as an introduction to our species. Possibly the most surprising development in the near 5 decade long story is that Voyager 1, contrary to all the hopes and expectations of the original design engineers...is still working!
Theunis Jansen van Rensburg from Bandwidth chatted to Keeno Lee about this astounding news concerning Voyager 1, the man-made object that has traveled farther away from Earth than anything else in history!
