A dispute over ice time at Regina’s Brandt Centre is so contentious, it is being brought to the floor of Regina City Council this week. A deal made between the Regina Exhibition Association Ltd. (REAL) and a new private minor hockey program, Young Guns Hockey Academy, over hockey at the Brandt Centre has senior men’s hockey players - and others - frustrated over ice time and availability. Mike Reich, owner, founder and coach of the Young Guns hockey team and Mark Burton, adult recreational hockey player, past director of player development for Hockey Regina, past chairman of City of Regina Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and former U7-U18 hockey coach, join Evan to share both sides of the story.
