Drive Moment - Is The Era of "Thirst Trap" Social Media Posts Coming To An End?

A "Thirst Trap" is social media post that is intended to stir attraction in anyone who sees it. Celebrities used to be seen to "break the internet" with highly suggestive selfies that were finally purposed for publicity reasons. From shirtless sweaty gym selfies to bikini pictures with low camera angles, and many other sexually suggestive pictures. In 2024 however it appears that this trend isn't as popular as it used to be. Celebrity creative strategist Hazi Adamu stated this year that "I think thirst traps are dead" in terms of their power to elevate celebrity star status, as they maybe would have in 2018. While this may ring true for some silos in celeb world, are Thirst Traps on social media still a thing in Mzansi?
