It’s human nature to categorize objects, concepts, and people. Studies on the origins of social categorization indicate that social labelling begins almost involuntarily at a very young age. But labelling people can impact a person’s self-identity and become ingrained in their psyche. You may have, in your own family, someone labelled as “the smart one”, “the lazy one”, “the crazy one”, “the responsible one” etc. Let’s talk about the impact of these labels on one’s psyche.
