Author Zainub Dala is recovering at home after an attack at her residence in Durban last week. Dala believes she was targeted because she had expressed admiration for controversial author, Salman Rushdie's work. She had praised Rushdie's writing at a forum at the Chatsworth Education Centre on Tuesday. Rushdie 'angered the Muslim community' when she published a book titled 'Satanic Verses' in 1988.
