A sad, sad day for all South Africans, in one of the most intense semifinals, the Proteas pulled out all the stops in trying to ensure their passage through to the finals, but it was the Black Caps who came out on top. A 100 run partnership between Corey Anderson and Grant Elliot handed the Black Caps the win. A valiant bowling effort from the Proteas could do nothing against the batsmen. In the end, it was down to the wire and New Zealand needed 5 runs off the last 3 balls.
