South African business leaders have written to the leaders of the country’s two biggest parties imploring them to settle their differences and keep the ruling coalition intact. During his campaign in Soweto yesterday, President Ramaphosa confirmed receiving the letter and responded, saying the ANC will not be dictated to by unelected groups on the matters of the coalition. The team reflected on this and was divided on whether political freedom is more important than economic freedom.
