SA Deaf Federation seeks financial assistance to participate in the 2025 DeafOlympics in Japan

The South African Deaf Sport Federation is seeking financial assistance with sending 30 hearing-impaired athletes to represent the country at this year’s DeafOlympics in Japan. The Federation says it lacks the funding to give all qualifying athletes the opportunity to take part in the event. DeafOlymics takes place in November in Tokyo with team South Africa having been part of the games since 1993. The federation says it requires at least five million rand to cover all costs for the games. Phemelo speaks to Secretary General of the South African Deaf Sports Federation, Amos Mashele.
