Despite rough seas last week, KZN anglers still managed to find fish, and the good news is that this long weekend is shaping up perfectly with calm seas, clear skies, and edible fish on the bite. While the South Coast struggled with muddy waters and limited catches, the Midlands offered solid freshwater fishing, with trout, bass, and carp making a strong showing. The North Coast delivered shad, cob, and big couta offshore, highlighted by a successful Umlalazi Ski Boat competition. Durban is the place to be, with local beaches producing grunters, snoek, and GTs, and the highly anticipated Durban Ski Boat Festival drawing over 230 boats, 650 anglers, and R1.5 million in prizes—promising an epic weekend for anglers in all facets.
