Tim Clarke owner of Cape Sidecar Adventures, 69yrs old. Born & raised in Johannesburg. Qualified as Chartered Accountant. Travelled abroad extensively & lived and worked in various cities including London, Taipei & Shanghai. Founded & co-owned number of pubs & restaurants in Taiwan & China before returning to Cape Town in 2004

Whilst working in China, Tim discovered the old decommissioned Chinese military sidecars built in the 1950’s and 1960’s & thought of an idea to use them in the tourism industry back in South Africa. With the help of local mechanics, Tim rebuilt & shipped a few of these sidecars to Cape Town in 2004 & founded Cape Sidecar Adventures. The company is 21 years old this year & the fleet has grown to 53 sidecars.
