IN CONVERSATION WITH DINEO CARO

Dineo Caro — hailed from the small town of Barkly West, just outside Kimberley in the Northern Cape — has been recognized for her natural talent from a young age. Often the entertainer in her family, her love for music was born in the church, where she performed in front of congregations as large as a thousand people.
Like many aspiring artists in South Africa, Dineo eventually made the move to Johannesburg to pursue her passion for the arts and entertainment. Beyond music, she has made her mark as a presenter, actress, and MC. One of her standout moments includes MCing at Slaghuis, a legendary hip-hop platform in Soweto known for its rap battles and cultural significance. Her acting career includes cameo appearances on hit TV shows like Isidingo and The Queen, as well as leading roles in feature films for the Mzansi Magic channel.
Currently, Dineo is the presenter and face of Brands Market, a high-end marketplace in Johannesburg. While she continues to thrive in different facets of entertainment, her heart has always remained with music—her first love.
Dineo Caro's music has already made waves, with several of her tracks featured in television films produced by Leburugraphy Production. In 2025, she featured on Trail Music SA’s EP I’m Art with the song “Kangaka.” She followed this up by releasing her own debut single of the year titled “Bukunyega,” which features Trail Music SA.
“Bukunyega”—a Setswana word meaning "to slither"—is a rich Afrobeat track that fuses Setswana and English lyrics. With her husky voice and distinctive style, Dineo Caro brings a fresh, authentic energy to the music scene. Her sound is bold, her presence captivating, and her journey is one poised for greatness.
