Pat King is the brains behind Labrador, the Philadelphia based singer-songwriter project that traffics in "maximum alt-country". Where previous albums sported baudy balladry and not-so-simple odes to tryin' to get sober, Labrador's fifth album, 'My Own Version of Desire' tracks influences from across britpop and classic R&B without ever losing its American edge. Pat joins fellow DIY musician and host of Captivity Scene Matt DeMell for the inaugural episode of the podcast to talk Paul Weller, his favorite Rolling Stone editors, and his best-friendship with dance punk trio Perennial.
