The fate of the statue of Cecil John Rhodes on the University of Cape Town's upper campus will be decided today, with the institution's Council set to act on a recommendation by the university's Senate that the statue be moved.
Yesterday, University of Cape Town’s Convocation, the body of the university’s graduates, gathered for a special general meeting. The purpose was to allow its members to express their opinions on the future of the Cecil John Rhodes statue on UCT’s upper campus, as well as on broader transformation issues.
Joining us now to give us more insight into the #RhodesMustFall debate last night is Dr Iqbal Surve, a member of the UCT Association of Black Alumni (UCTABA). Dr Surve is Founder and Chairman of the Sekunjalo Group
