Looking at the role of female educators who are shaping the next generation of women leaders. Some of the academy's celebrated educators, including Depalisa Mjoli, , Naidoo Radeshree, Nyovane Andiswa, Michelle Williams and Simon Jasmine. Through the interview, they will share their experiences, challenges, and triumphs as educators, as well as their perspectives on leadership, women's empowerment, and the importance of education for young women in South Africa.
The goal of this interview is to highlight the important work of these educators by providing a platform for them to share their insights and celebrate the achievements of women educators and leaders. By sharing their stories, we aim to inspire others to pursue their own paths to leadership and empowerment.
Radeshree Naidoo is an accomplished South African educational leader, curriculum specialist, and dedicated advocate for academic excellence. She currently serves as the Departmental Head of English Home Language at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, where she leads innovative teaching initiatives, oversees curriculum implementation, monitors and maintains rigorous assessment strategies, and focuses on the holistic development of the child. Her career includes a distinguished tenure as Deputy Chief Marker for the National Senior Certificate Examination, KZN Provincial Examiner for Grades 11 and 12, Chief Coordinator for the Umlazi District Grade 11 and 12 Examination, District Coordinator for English Home Language, District Oral Moderator for English Home Language Grade 12 2019- 2023, Provincial Resource Developer for KZN and Deputy Principal at Protea Secondary School, reflecting her proven capability in both academic leadership and school management. Her contributions extend to facilitating workshops aimed at refining teaching methodologies, improving assessment strategies, and supporting at-risk learners. She is deeply committed to learner-centred, outcomes-based education, integrating 21st-century skills to prepare students for complex real-world challenges. Driven by a belief in the transformative power of education, Ms Naidoo combines strategic leadership with a passion for fostering curiosity, resilience, and lifelong learning. Her work reflects a dedication to equity, inclusivity, and the professional growth of both learners and educators.
