Kayla Jackson Joins Drs. Mabry & Lee To Talk On Mental Health Care

In recognition of Suicide Prevention Month, Dr. Mabry welcomes Dr. Kayla Jackson from the Mental Health Cooperative to talk about the importance of mental health care in the Upper Cumberland and beyond. A Cookeville native and Tennessee Tech graduate, Dr. Jackson shares what inspired her to pursue a career in mental health and how the Mental Health Cooperative—now with locations in Cookeville and Nashville—is helping individuals access life-changing services. The conversation covers the signs of poor mental health, the stigma that still surrounds therapy, and how telehealth and alternative transportation methods are improving access in rural areas. Dr. Mabry also leads a “Myth vs. Truth” segment to address common misconceptions about therapy and mental health treatment. Listeners will walk away with resources, reassurance, and a better understanding of how to care for their own mental well-being or support those around them.
