The promise of African soft power through music is immense, but as recent analyses suggest, much of that potential is still being undermined by the lack of equitable revenue flows and proper rights management frameworks.
To explore these issues, we speak with Andile Magwaza music publisher, industry thought leader, and member of the Music Publishers Association of South Africa (MPASA). Through his companies Thawini Creatives and Candor Music Services, Andile works closely with both established and emerging songwriters, helping them navigate the complex world of music rights, royalties, and global distribution.
