IN CONVERSATION WITH LUCILLE SLADE

Dynamic South African singer, songwriter, actress and multifaceted artist Lucille Slade returns with a refreshing new Afro Pop single titled STEP, featuring the ever-popular Una Rams.
STEP is a vibrant celebration of a beloved South African tradition — the joyous dance that brings people together at family gatherings. To “step” is to move in harmony, share laughter, and embrace unity.
Lucille and Una Rams combine their creative genius on this track, fusing smooth R&B tones with upbeat Afro Pop rhythms that perfectly capture the warmth and spirit of the continent.
“The aim is not to sweat, just step. STEP is a smooth, sexy take on dancing together — ‘yetsa step’ reimagined in song by two of South Africa’s most innovative songwriters. I’ve worked with Una on quite a few songs, and I’m glad this is the one that made it out. It was the easiest to create and feels like something I’ve always wanted to make — a song that gets my people dancing,” shares Lucille.
Fans can look forward to even more from Lucille as she prepares to release her upcoming EP soon.
STEP is now available on all major streaming platforms.
