As Mental Health Awareness Month draws to a close, communities,
healthcare workers, NGOs, and corporates will unite for the March for
Mental Health — a public event aimed at promoting connection,
compassion, and change.
The march will take place on Friday, 31 October, at 10:00 AM at Chris
Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto. Participants are encouraged to
wear green in solidarity with the cause.
Organisers say the march will bring together people with lived
experience, caregivers, medical professionals, and advocates to raise
awareness and break the stigma surrounding mental health challenges.
Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the event, with
opportunities to interview mental health experts, patients, caregivers,
and civil society representatives.
