Tensions flared at Wits University on Monday night as students took to the streets in Braamfontein to protest against gender-based violence, following allegations that a newly elected SRC member raped a fellow student. The university confirmed that the case has been reported to its Gender Equity Office (GEO), which is now handling the investigation.
