He has also been recognized for his contributions to the arts, such as being selected as one of the 200 Mail & Guardian Young people in the Education Category. Makwetu's Masixole is currently the marketing manger of Cape Town City Ballet. Cape Town City Ballet presents a diverse repertoire that spans timeless classical ballets, innovative contemporary works, and bold new commissions, showcasing the artistry and athleticism of dancers.
