A diplomatic storm is brewing after a controversial “coronation” of a self-proclaimed Nigerian king sparked outrage in the Eastern Cape - and now protests have spread to Pretoria. The Nigerian High Commission has apologised, distancing itself from the ceremony that saw Solomon Ogbonna Eziko call himself a monarch, insisting it was never meant to be a coronation. But tensions have already boiled over, with violence, damaged property, and growing anti-migrant protests raising serious concerns.
