
ConCourt set to rule on Phala Phala within a month

South Africa’s apex court is edging closer to a highly anticipated ruling on the controversial Phala Phala matter involving President Cyril Ramaphosa. The Constitutional Court of South Africa has confirmed that judgment is at an advanced stage and is expected within the next month. The case centres on whether Parliament acted unlawfully in its handling of the scandal. At the heart of the matter is the Economic Freedom Fighters’s bid to have Parliament’s decision, not to adopt the Section 89 panel report or pursue impeachment proceedings - declared irrational and unlawful.
