Civil society groups are demanding urgent action after the closure of Johannesburg’s Metro Centre left a vital archive of building plans inaccessible. The Johannesburg Heritage Foundation and Johannesburg Crisis Alliance warn the records - some dating back to the city’s earliest days - are essential for property development, renovations and legal compliance.
