Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe is standing her ground, rejecting claims that she misled Parliament over two luxury vehicles allegedly linked to the ANC Women’s League. Appearing before MPs, Tolashe addressed a string of governance concerns - from disputed appointments to food aid issues - but it’s the vehicle saga that’s drawing the most scrutiny. The cars, reportedly donated by Chinese officials, were registered in her children’s names, a matter now before Parliament’s ethics committee. Tolashe insists she has followed due process and submitted a formal affidavit. Phemelo speaks to Parliament’s Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Social Development Bridget Masango.
