Later this month, farmland owned by Monette Farms across Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia will be up for sale, in hopes of paying back the nearly $1B of debt it owes. André Magnan, a professor of sociology and social studies at the University of Regina with an interest in the sociology of agri-food systems, has been critical of the farm and thinks mega farms are likely to fail.
