Treasury to release remaining municipal funding

National Treasury is set to release the remaining municipal funds withheld over concerns about financial compliance. The move follows ongoing monitoring of 69 municipalities, with 42 already cleared to receive their allocations. But Treasury warns that the release does not mean their financial problems are solved. Municipalities must still comply with the Municipal Finance Management Act.
