
Gauteng Legislature praises police breakthrough in Reiger Park shooting

The Gauteng Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Community Safety has welcomed progress in the investigation into the deadly Reiger Park shooting, which claimed the lives of two police officers and two women. Police have arrested a person of interest and recovered firearms and ammunition taken from the slain officers. The Committee says the breakthrough is an important step towards justice, while raising concerns about bail decisions and delays in prosecuting serious crimes.
