Bullies to burnouts: This SA car-spinning doccie is worth an Oscar nod
Loading player...
From Dusk We Spin is a local documentary film about Logan Maart, a young girl from Mitchells Plain, and her mentor, Mark Linden, who uses car-spinning to escape the struggles of everyday life. A survivor of bullying and depression, Maart found the culture of spinning as a ray of light. The film now qualifies for an Oscar nomination after winning Best Documentary Film in South Africa at the recent Durban International Film Festival. In this episode of Driving with J9, we speak to the film's producer, Sheena-Lee Hendricks, and motorsport personality Ernest Page about how motorsport and Logan's story can be a fundamental stepping stone in developing our youth and keeping them on a path to a better life, if there were enough support. Fresh episodes drop on the first working day of every month. Co-produced and edited by Graeme Raubenheimer.
