Tiyo Soga commemorative concert this Heritage Month

This Heritage Month, the legacy of Reverend Tiyo Soga is being celebrated through a commemorative concert on 19 September at Rhema Bible Church North in Randburg. Soga was one of South Africa’s first published Black intellectuals and wrote the much-loved hymn Lizalis’ idinga lakho. The concert brings together classical, choral and indigenous musical traditions, featuring Mandisi Dyantyi, the Renaissance Singers and the Chamber Orchestra of Johannesburg. Phemelo speaks to cellist, conductor and broadcaster Kutlwano Masote.
