SAPS and SAHRC sign memorandum on public demonstrations

Police and the Human Rights Commission are due to sign a memorandum today in connection with the handling of demonstrations. According to the two institutions, the aim of the memorandum will be to promote the protection of fundamental human rights of the population in order to dissuade them from resorting to acts of violence during public protests
