Last year, the O'Regan/Pikolo Commission of Inquiry highlighted the spate of killings in Khayelitsha and recommendations were put forward to keep people safer in the area. Recently a young man was killed and two others were severely beaten in an apparent act of vigilantism. Now the Social Justice coalition and Ndifuna Ukwazi have expressed dismay at these vigilante killings and the apparent silence of the Minister of Police on these issues.
