The Western Cape provincial government is planning a one billion Rand Halaal agri-processing food park as part of the province’s Project Khulisa growth strategy. MEC for Economic Opportunities, Alan Winde says the global Halaal market is worth 2.3 trillion Dollars. The proposed Halaal park will allow the Western Cape to double its share of that fast-growing market. It will focus on the Middle East and North Africa, where around 20 per cent of the world’s Muslim population reside. MEC Alan joins us give us more on this plan....
