Acting Hawks head Major General Mthandazo Ntlemeza has been appointed to the post permanently, despite a statement by a high court judge that he was "biased and dishonest".
Police Minister Nathi Nhleko claimed Ntlemeza's 34 years in the police made him the ideal candidate. Ntlemeza was hired, fired and quietly rehired just two days later after a court found his appointment to be invalid.
